Leuku 210 is a solid all-round Sami knife blade , perfect for outdoor work. Leuku is the traditional tool of the northern Sami people, and is used for tasks such as clearing brush, chopping small trees for tent poles, and also crushing bones during butchering. The tang is of a pointed design but is thick and strong.
Leuku blades are widely used in the knife industry in Finland and loved by knife makers and knife enthusiasts all over Europe. Whether you are making a souvenir or a workhorse, these blades are very sturdy and meant for hard use .
These blades are all made of tough 80CrV2 steel. This steel is a high carbon tool steel from Thyssenkrupp, which is technically referred to as a spring steel. The black sides of the carbon steel blades are a result of the oil quench hardening process and serve as rust protection and visual character. While very durable, it will scratch and eventually wear down with time and heavy use. This will give the blade a unique patina that only carbon steel blades can achieve.
