Sleipner is Böhler Uddeholm's modification of the popular knife steel D2. The change in composition compared to D2 gives Sleipner improved toughness and good wear resistance and resistance to chipping. Sleipner is delivered hot-rolled, which gives less internal stress in the steel, but a surface with a little glow peel (black surface).
Compared to A2, Sleipner will provide higher wear resistance.
Used in many of Lionsteel's knives.
